eScrubber Computer Lab Services
Many colleges that offer Linux courses have computer labs equipped with Microsoft Windows. Hands-on Linux classes usually means the lab computers must be modified so hard disks can be swapped. Before a Linux class, the Windows hard disk is removed and a Linux hard disk is installed. After the Linux class, the hard disks must be swapped back.
Many computer labs install disk caddies that allow the disks to be swapped more easily
but it's still a significant workload.
A simpler alternative is to use
Students use telnet or SSH client software, such as Putty, to access our servers, where students have their own virtual computer. Each virtual computer is devoted to a student for the duration of the class. Any data they save or any configuration item they change is remembered from class to class. At the end of the term or semester, the student's virtual computer is deleted or saved if the student wishes to use it for their next Linux class.
Pricing
$15.00 per student per class*
Standard pricing is for a virtual computer that uses a generic Linux installation. If you require a specific Linux distribution, such as Fedora Core or SuSE Linux, please contact us.
* a class is for a term or semester duration.
